John Kehoe, born in the UK in 1962, is a senior manufacturing consultant in the aluminium industry.  He currently works through AluTube, the leading solution provider for extruded and drawn aluminium tube products. He has spent nearly 20 years in the industry, as a professional, manager, and consultant. His work encompasses the full range of manufacturing competencies, both technical and managerial, particularly in relation to:

•         Plant management

•         Process design and optimisation

•         Research and Development

•         Customer specific training using World Class Manufacturing

Education & Skills Summary

John holds an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE), and a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). 

John strongly believes that specific and timely skills training are essential to achieve measurable business objectives. Therefore, he has undertaken and developed an extensive range of high quality training programmes in WCM tools including:

·        TQM, Kaizen, EHS, generic production systems, 5S, OTED/SMED, SPC, and IS9000 auditing.

Client specific programmes in the areas of facilitation skills, team-building skills, change management, communication skills, media management, labour law, etc compliment this

John also has exceptional IT skills, both managerial and technical. He is highly proficient in the full range of Office modules - MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project, etc. He has also worked as a programmer and is an expert in PC based operating systems, Win2000/Exchange administration, physical LAN systems, etc

Career Retrospective

John Kehoe’s career comprises two key phases:

•         13 years (1988-2001) in professional managerial consulting roles with Wexal International based in Enniscorthy, Ireland.

•         (2001 – now) International consultant to the extrusion and automotive component industries

Wexal International Ltd is a subsidiary of Alcoa, the highly diversified, worldwide leader in the aluminium industry with 142,000 employees and annual turnover of $22bn. Wexal manufactured aluminium tube for the automotive heat exchanger market. They employed 150, had a turnover of €19m and were certified to ISO9000, QS9000 & ISO14000. During this period, John held a number of senior management positions including MIS Manager, Production & Logistics Manager, Business Development Manager and Operations Manager. He was instrumental in establishing Wexal in the top 3 global suppliers of aluminium drawn tube to the automotive heat exchanger market.

Since 2001, John has managed several projects with international manufacturing companies, including:
- Specification, installation and commissioning of manufacturing plants
- Strategic and operational review of capital investment programme in extrusion operations for leading global player
- Streamlined manufacturing, IT and logistics functions for various organisations 

Personal Interests

He enjoys cycling, swimming, running and in particular skiing, where is a qualified instructor. As a native English speaker, he also speaks fluent French (John currently lives in France) and basic German.
